1. “Close to the Nature’s Face” Kudremukha – Karnataka

It was named after a mountainside that looked like a horse’s face. Kudremukha is famous for its ecology and picturesque beauty. It is a popular hill station and it is located in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. Kudremukha Peak is a wonderland for trekkers, with its hilly paths and flora and fauna diversity.

2. Nilgiri Hills – Tamil Nadu

It is situated in Tamil Nadu and shares the borders with Kerala and Karnataka. Coonoor, Ooty, and Kotagiri of Nilgiri district are the most desired trekking destinations of Tamil Nadu. Flattering climate, kind slopes, and slighter restrictions make it easy for the trekker. The ideal time to trek Nilgiri is April to June and September to December as it is neither too cold nor too hot. In advance, permissions are given by the Wildlife Warden.

3. Coorg – Karnataka

Coorg, formally known as Kodagu and also known as “Scotland of India”, is the most wealthy hill station in Karnataka. On the South India tour, Coorg is one of the prime places to trek. It is situated by the Western Ghats, except June-September the monsoon months Coorg has pleasing climatic conditions. The perfect time is between January to March.

4. Peermede – Kerala

Peermede is visited by tourists not only for trekking but also to explore the beauty of the place. Other than adventure you can enjoy horse riding, paragliding, and cycling. Near Peermede you can trek at Kuttikanam, Vagamon and Kalthotti. 4kms from Peermede there is a hub for adventure trekking Peru Hills. The ideal time for trekking is from April-June and September-November.

5. Ananthagiri Hills – Andhra Pradesh

8. Nilambur Tourism – Kerala

10.“Hillocks borrowed from heaven” – Nandi Hills – Karnataka

Nandi Hills is a well-liked trekking landing place near Bangalore and if you have a plan for one-day trips this is the perfect place. It is situated near Skandagiri and is one of the interesting places to visit for trekking.

On the peak, a few accommodation options are available who want to see the early morning sunrise. It is not safe for those who want to do the self camping at the peak.

11. Shivagange – Karnataka

Shivagange has beautiful solid rock structures. It has a tough and exciting trek because of its rocky hill, the trekking becomes difficult but due to the railings support it becomes easy and safe for climbing. You can take a break as there is a food stall every half a kilometer and there are temples also at regular intervals. Man-made steps are also available which are connecting to the temples. As the hill becomes steeper the last leg of the climb becomes very toughest. A Nandi (Holy Bull) is carved from a single monolithic stone at the topmost point of the hill.

12. Grass Hills – Tamil Nadu

Grass Hills is a secured area located in Valparai, Tamilnadu. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Valparai. Grass Hills presents the beauty of the green ecosystem and amazing views of the hill and forest. Grass Hills is two-pronged access. The first is a mixture of 4 * 4 rides for about and a half on a non-existent bumpy track. Akkamalai tea estate gate is the other trek. Visitors have to take permission from Anamalai Tiger Reserve Office in Pollachi to enter the Grass Hills as this spot is a protected area.

13. Siruvani Waterfalls, Coimbatore – Tamil Nadu

36 km distance from Coimbatore and 50km distance from Palakkad, Siruvani Waterfall is situated in Tamil Nadu. If you are planning a trip to Tamil Nadu this is the must-visit place. This lake water is known as the second sweetest water in the world for its sweetness. As it is located in the center part of a dense forest, the visitors are not allowed to see the falls after 5 PM. The Siruvani dam is breathe taking and is very beautiful. To visit this place only a few buses are available.

14. Top Station, Munnar – Kerala

Top Station is a beautiful place located on Kerala – Tamil Nadu border. From here, you can see 360 degrees view of the Western Ghats. At 2200 meters altitude, this place is famous for the plant named Neelakurunji, which gives flowers only once every 12 years. It is very steep with deep valleys. In South India, it is said that Top Station has the highest please road. If you want to prefer an overnight stay camping is allowed on the trail. A single-day trek can also be done.
