Everest Base Camp Trek

Mt. Everest is a renowned trekking place not only in our country but across the world. Everest Base Camp is also called “Steps to Heaven.” There are two base camps, the first one is the South Base Camp which is in Nepal at the height of 5,364 m and the second one is the North Base Camp which is in Tibet, China at the height of 5,150 m. You can see the beautiful surroundings while climbing like dense forests, green farmland, fast-flowing rivers, and frozen pools.

Best Time to Visit: Late May – Mid-September, Late September – November, February – May

Auden’s Col Trek

Auden’s Col Trek is very toughest trek in India. The altitude is 18,012ft, and it is 75Km distance. It starts from Gangotri and ends at Gaurikund. It is meant only for those who are experienced at trekking and physically fit.

Best Time to Visit: June – September

Tungnath and Chandrashila Trek, Uttarakhand

Tungnath is a small and attractive village in Uttarakhand, and it is the starting point of the Chopta Chadrashila Trek. For first-time trekkers this is very easy in the Himalayan region it starts from Haridwar and ends at Chandrashila.

Best Time to Visit: April – June

Auli, Uttarakhand

It is on the slope of the Himalayan ranges. The peak is located at the height of 2500 to 3000 m from sea level. From Auli, you can trek up to Himalayan peaks such as Dunagiri, Nanda Devi, Joshimath, Mana Parvat, and Kamet. For skiing, it is the world’s best destination.

Best Time to Visit: December – March to enjoy skiing. To enjoy the snow skiing whole year an artificial lake is built for tourists.

Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir

From the sea level, it is at the height of 2730 m. The destination is in Pir Panjal Range and is a well-liked destination for skiing. Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering is located in Gulmarg. Khilanmarg, Alapther Lake, and Apharwat are the three trekking trails.

Best Time to Visit: December – February

Gomukh Tapovan Trek, Uttarakhand

It will take 6 – 8 days to complete this 46 km trek. Beginnings from the Gangotri go across Gaumukh, Gangotri National Park, Tapovan, and back. The Gangotri Tapovan is full of venturesome into glacier traverse, mountain climbing, and rock climbing.

Best Time to Visit: September – June

Amarnath, Jammu and Kashmir

Amarnath cave is located at a height of 3888 m. Amarnath Temple is a Hindu shrine of Lord Shiva. Throughout the year it is surrounded by snow and glaciers, and it is open in summer to pilgrims. Out of 51 Shakti Peetha’s Amarnath cave is one Mahamaya Shakti Peeth of deity Sati.

Best Time to Visit: June – August

Leh – Ladakh

It is the most adventurous place, and it is known for its moon-shaped and majestic terrains. It is said that trekking routes in Ladakh are happening, fascinating, and inspiring routes. The height of the trekking ranges between 9000 and 25,170ft. Summers are the best time to go trekking.

Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib Trek, Uttarakhand

The most admired trek in the Himalayas is “The Valley of Flowers”. In India, it is one of the oldest treks. On the way to The Valley of Flowers, you get a chance to visit Hemkund Sahib. It is a Sikh gurudwara located at the height of 15200ft from sea level. It is believed that The Valley of Flowers is the same place from where the magical herb was brought by Hanuman to save Lakshman in the Hindu epic Ramayan.

Best Time to Visit: It opens in June and closes in October, July – September, to see the flowers bloom August is the best time, overnight camping is not allowed so to be visited in the daytime between 7 AM – 2 PM

Pin Parvati Pass Trek, Himachal Pradesh

It is found that Pin Parvati Pass is the substitute passage to the Spiti Valley. Pin Parvati Trek is the most exciting and difficult trail in the country. The pathway distance is of 100kms, and it takes 16 days to complete. It starts from Manali and includes the destinations Tundra Bhuj, Manikaran, Odi Thach, Barsheni, and Mantalai.

Best Time to Visit: July – September

Kang La Trek, Ladakh

Kangla Pass trek was initially used by the local people of Lahaul, as the pass joints Lahaul to Zanskar. On the great Himalayan range, Kangla Pass is the highest pass. It intersects from Himachal into Ladakh which is Trans Himalayan. The trek is a combination of flowers, rocks, greenery, and ice.

Best Time to Visit: June – September

Brahmatal Trek

The Brahmatal Trek is devoted to the Lord Brahma. You can see the centuries-old oak Rhododendron forests. The Brahmatal Trek is new in India but within a few years, it has become popular.

Best Time to Visit: in winters December – February for enjoying the snow or during spring

Aritar, Sikkim

It is situated at the height of 4915ft on the foothills of the Himalayas in the eastern district of Sikkim. Aritar has many places to visit like Lampokhari, Nathang Valley, Mankhim Hilltop, Mulkharka Lake, etc. When you reach the height of 4600ft there are the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, Aritar Gumpa the ideal incarnation of the traditional architecture.

Best Time to Visit: March – June

Dalhousie Trekking

For beginners, this is the best place for trekking. This place is surrounded by dense forests of fir trees, deodar, and pine which look exceptionally attractive. The route for trekking is Dainkund-Jot-Khajjar-Kalatop. Between Kalatop and Khajjar you will come across a sanctuary. Leopards, black bears, and jackals are commonly seen here. Drakund, the highest peak gives you a romantic view.

Best Time to Visit: March-May

Mcleodganj Trek

In and around Mcleodganj there are many easy and difficult treks. There are training institutes and tools available for trekking. You can see beautiful emerald green while trekking and give way to adventure activities.
